A genus of four or five species of evergreen shrubs confined to New Zealand. They have alternate entire leaves and small yellow flowers; petals and stamens five. They are more or less tender and at Kew need wall protection but in milder climates, such as mid-Sussex and farther south and west, they make attractive features in the open ground. Corokia is adapted from the Maori name ‘Korokia’.
